PARISH LIFE MIRRORS THAT OF A FAMILY, WHERE WE GATHER TOGETHER TO GIVE AND TO RECEIVE by Thomas A. Quinlan |
Liturgical Ministry RolesDuring the year first communicants, along with a parent, will be scheduled to usher once and to serve as a greeter once. We all have gifts to bring God's love to one another and serving our community in this way is one example. Below is the explanation of how to share your gifts in these ministries. Lord's Prayer
Sometimes we use gestures to express our relationship with God, just as we do with each other.
Our Father, (palms up)
Who are in Heaven, (arms extended upward)
Hallowed by your name. (hands together)
Your kingdom come. (arms extending all around)
your will be done. (bow head, palms together)
On earth (hands down toward ground)
As it is in heaven. (hands up toward sky)
Give us this day (hands cupped)
Our daily bread. (hands to mouth)
And forgive us our trespasses (hand on heart, head bowed)
As we forgive those who trespass against us. (extend hand to shake another's)
And lead us not into temptation, (hands out in shielding motion)
But deliver us from evil. (hands shielding, shake head)
For yours is the kingdom (arms all around)
And the power (make fists)
And the glory forever. (arms up, out)
Amen. (cross arms on chest, bow head)
